A stellar year in the return to OUA volleyball

With the absence of OUA volleyball due to the pandemic, it has been a real treat for myself to don the Gryphon jersey once again for my 2nd year of eligibility.

Taking my training from the summer spent with the Junior National Team, it has allowed myself to view volleyball in a different way. Gaining the international experience from playing in the World Championships, has allowed me to gain an insight on how to further improve my volleyball kit.

This season was tough as we had a lot of young guys, however I am proud of the program and the boys on how we battle adversity all year. I surprised myself as when I looked at the year-end stats and saw myself leading the OUA in kills and total points, it added more fuel to the fire to train hard for next season.

With the indoor season coming to an end, I am looking forward to playing beach full-time with the Team Canada program along side my partner Steven Abrams. This summer will be huge for myself and the 8x8 team as we can travel this summer to different courts around Ontario instead of being stuck virtually.

Thank you and will always appreciate the support from friends, family and the community,

Jonny
